Attributes of rackTraction / Attribute von rackTraction

  • number: This is the number of cog wheels per vehicle installed.
  • rackSystem: This is the type of rack system the cog wheels are used for.
  • Riggenbach - a ladder rack, formed of steel plates or channels connected by round or square rods at regular intervals.
  • Riggenbach-Klose - a variant to Riggenbach
  • Abt2Bars - solid bars with vertical teeth machined into them. Two or three of these bars are mounted centrally between the rails, with the teeth offset. The use of multiple bars with offset teeth ensures that the pinions on the locomotive driving wheels are constantly engaged with the rack.
  • Abt3Bars - as Abt2Bars. The three bars version is used for heavy railway haulage.
  • Locher - gear teeth cut in the sides rather than the top of the rail, engaged by two cog wheels on the locomotive. This system allows use on steeper grades than the other systems, whose teeth could jump out of the rack.
  • Strub - a rolled flat-bottom rail with rack teeth machined into the head approximately 100 mm apart. Safety jaws fitted to the locomotive engage with the underside of the head to prevent derailments.
  • Wetli - Walzenradsystem von Kaspar Wetli, welches über das Versuchsstadium nicht hinaus kam. Siehe auch Walzenrad (externer Link, 🇩🇪).
  • Marsh - a central rack which employed parallel wrought iron angle bars, connected by regularly spaced pins
  • Roll - a single blade cut in a similar fashion to the Abt system but typically wider than a single Abt bar. Also called "Lamella".
  • other:anything: Any value that does not fit any value from the previous enumeration list, fulfilling the constraint: at minimum two characters, whitespace is not allowed. Please, apply Dev:usingAny accordingly.
Any other type of rack system.
  • resilentCogWheel: This is a flag, whether the vehicle's cog wheels are resilently suspended.

Syntactic Constraints / Syntaktische Beschränkungen

  • rackSystem mandatory

The optional element can occur only once per vehicle.
