The element <specificTransmissionModule> contains the data about any installed interface of the ETCS system to an existing train control and protection system using the modi "STM European" or "STM National". The interface is provided by so-called specific transmission modules (STM). The STMs are handling the receipt and partial processing of information from the national lineside supervision system.
Das Element <specificTransmissionModule> enthält die Informationen für die installierten Schnittstellen der ETCS-Fahrzeugausrüstung zu einem herkömmlichem nationalen Zugsicherungssystem, wobei der ETCS-Level STM im Modus "STM European" bzw. "STM National" benutzt wird. Für diese Schnittstelle werden sogenannte "specific transmission modules" (STM) benötigt. Die STMs übernehmen den Empfang und einen mehr oder weniger großen Teil der Verarbeitung der von der nationalen Streckenausrüstung übertragenen Informationen.

- softwareVersion: This is the version of installed software in the on-board unit as additional information related to srsVersion.
- Die Angabe der verwendeten Softwareversion ist eine Zusatzinformation in Bezug auf die SRS-Version.
- onBoardUnitID: This contains the unique ID given to a particular on-board unit, which is used for the communication with control centre.
- Für die Adressierung bei der Kommunikation erhält jedes Fahrzeuggerät eine eindeutige Identifikation, unter der es von der Zentrale angesprochen werden kann.
- nationalSystemRef: This allows the reference to the data of a separate specified nationalSystem the STM is interfacing to.
